EPLAN Software & Service, July 2001:
New release provides tailor-made modules
EPLAN
21 - Customised Modules for Individual Use
In August, the new Release 3.2 of EPLAN 21 will be launched, offered as a modularized version for the first time. This allows to create tailor-made software packages according to individual requirements. All project data remain module-independent and thus guarantee entire compatibility with all individual solutions which, by the way, can be extended at any time.
CAE engineering in the module concept
The new module concept of
EPLAN 21
provides a suitable solution for every user and every demand. It is up to you to decide which performances of the complex system you wish to use. All project data remains independent from the module itself, thus ensuring full compatibility with all individual solutions, and can also be extended at any time. Consistent use of object-oriented data technology throughout helps to reduce planning times, which in turn leads to significant cost reduction. The potential for optimizing familiar working methods is considerable providing you with the ultimate in effi-ciency and flexibility for tackling new
challenge.
Modules act
interdependently...
All modules form the basis for an in-dividually tailored high-end solution which, in the most optimal way, supports the engineering:
Engineering
Framework (EF)
The standard solution which serves as a basis for all modules, provides all graphic functions without limitation including the online features as well as the navigator. In this context, creating company-specific forms, plot frames, and your own symbol libraries represents no problem - neither does the generation of basic graphic evaluations such as wiring, terminal, interconnect and connector diagrams as well as bills of materials and PLC overviews. The mounting panel comparison function gives the finishing touches to the comprehensive basic functions. If requirements increase, it is always possible to extend the system to the entire scope of performance provided by
EPLAN 21
by using four individual modules (kits) that are independent of one another.
Enhanced Kit
The Enhanced Kit increases the output possibilities – assembly and maintenance will for example become more easy due to multi-stage graphic connection diagrams.Network-based connections on the mounting panel provide the fitter with all relevant wiring information. The inclusion of external applications puts the finishing touches on this package.
Translation Kit
The Translation Kit is used for the online and offline translation and furthermore includes convenient functions to search and replace texts and properties in projects.
Interface Kit
Using the Interface Kit allows you to exchange project data from or with other applications of the process chain. This mainly includes the preparation of project evaluations for further processing in external programs (e.g. Excel).Furthermore, it contains additional interfaces that go beyond the basic scope of performance such as ODBC, DXF, and BMP.
Corporate Kit
The Corporate Kitcontains numerous functions for standardizing company-wide uniform master data. The elaborate management of user rights for large user groups represents one of the highlights of this
module.
All modules form the basis for an individually tailored high-end solution which, in the most optimal way, supports the engineering in widely branched companies that operate on an international level. However, if any requirements are not met, the
application programming interface
(API) of
EPLAN will provide effective help. By using this interface you can integrate your own developments in
EPLAN. Furthermore, the Script Generator helps you to easily and conveniently automate complex operations up to the complete schematic generation.
