HARDWARE

The following hardware prerequisites must be guaranteed:

• The computer used must be equipped with a current Intel Pentium Processor
   
• The main memory should at least be 64 MB. Please note that Windows NT 4.0 doesn't reach its maximum performance speed below 64 MB!
   
• There should be free disk space of at least 500 MB on your hard disk.
   
• We recommend a single-screen or a two-screen system with a 1280 x 1024 pixel resolution per screen.
   
• Each printer running under Windows NT can be used.  It should, however, have at least 4 to 6 MB memory, so that even large graphics can be output in an adequate time.
   

SOFTWARE

The following software prerequisites must be met:

• You must have installed Windows NT Workstation 4.0 (Service Pack 3) as the operating system.
   
• EPLAN 21 can only operate under the NTFS file system.  Usage of FAT is not possible.
   
• The Swap memory must have a minimum size of 128 MB.  256 MB are actually better for running the programs in an acceptable way.  This is also true if you want to run additional programs (rule of thumb: double up to 4 times the memory size).
   
• If pool licenses are to be managed with the FlexLm license manager, it is absolutely necessary to have a network installed!  In case there is no network board, you can install a virtual network as, e.g., the MS LOOPBACK adapter (cf. network installation).
   
• The network protocol TCP/IP must be installed
